Blessed with two miles of private beach and 54 swimming pools (many of them private pools for villa and suite accommodations) Half Moon is ideal for beach vacations!

Our two main beach areas for activities and swimming are Sunset Beach, directly in front of the West Cottages and adjacent to the lobby, and Sunrise Beach, which is east of the main lobby and closer to the Royal Villas.

From the Sunset Beach guests can arrange for snorkeling, kayaks, pedal boats and beach floats. The Sunrise Beach is close to Half Moon's private Dolphin Lagoon and the location from which our guests depart from for all deep water activities.  The Sunrise Beach also plays host to Half Moon's weekly Beach BBQ.

Jamaica Water Sports and Beach Activities

Snorkel, sail, dive, wind surf, water ski, kayak and cruise the Caribbean during your vacation. Our aquatic experts, Captain’s Water Sports & Dive Centre, provide everything from equipment to certified instructors as well as offer nearby dive sites teeming with a variety of fish, coral and caverns.

Certain non-motorised water sports are included for guests staying at Half Moon. The included activities are snorkeling, kayaks, pedal boats, and beach floats (lilos). For those guests looking for a little more sailing options such as Hobi Wave, Sunfish, Sailing, Windsurfing and Banana Boat rides are available

Motorised water sports are available from the Sunrise Beach and include parasailing, boat trips, water-skiing, tubing, banana boat rides, wakeboard, kneeboard, and glass bottom boat tours. Also available are special boat charters and deep sea fishing.

The Half Moon Captain's Water Sports & Dive Centre is our personalised diving facility that caters to all your individual diving needs. Diving activities include dive trips to unique locations, equipment rentals, SCUBA diving lessons, PADI open water certification, PADI "Sassy" for kids and other specialty courses.

POOLS

There are 54 pool at half moon, many of which are private pools reserved for guests in our villas and suites.  But for more action and fun, there are three public pools ideal for meeting new friends.

Hibiscus Pool and Swim-up Pool Bar

The Hibiscus Pool is most well-known for our swim-up pool bar where guests can enjoy refreshing cocktails while cooling off in the water.

Olympic Lap Pool

Located directly east of the Hibiscus Pool, our Olympic-sized Lap Pool is the ideal place to work on your freestyle and backstroke.

Oleander Pool

This kidney-shaped pool resides in the Oleander Terrace and is a great place to get away from it all. The perfect place to enjoy a relaxing hour or so floating peacefully.

EXCLUSIVE DOLPHIN LAGOON

Half Moon's private Dolphin Lagoon lets you meet, swim and even kiss the dolphins to create a memory that will last a lifetime. As unique as it is exclusive, Half Moon is the only resort in the Caribbean to offer this incredible experience on site. Opened in April 2003, the Half Moon Dolphin Lagoon is available to Half Moon guests only, and is one of the most popular activities available at the resort.

Our large ocean lagoon allows guests to come face-to-face with these fascinating mammals. Trained handlers provide a detailed orientation and education session, introducing participants to the world of the dolphins.

Then guests don life jackets and enter the sea for an adventure with these dorsal friends. Guests are amazed at how close they can get with our resident dolphins and how friendly, intelligent and charming they can be.
