Caribbean Family Vacation Activities

Inspired by Jamaica’s fabled children’s character Anancy the Spider, the children’s play area features a model “Caribbean village” with buildings painted brightly coloured hues that are guaranteed to enliven the spirits of young visitors. Anancy and his friends form the central theme around which activities and learning programmes are planned for children aged three to 12.

Little ones will have the time of their lives during their Jamaican holiday as they create puppet shows in Tacoomah Hut, enjoy cold refreshments in Patoo’s Lookout, get creative in Artsy Kraftsy or listen to captivating stories in Tacoomah hut.

The Anancy Children’s Village at Half Moon includes shaded play areas, activity rooms, a wading pool, sand box, and expansive outdoor play area with each activity supervised by a well-trained coordinator. We only accept children that are fully potty trained. Families with children who are not potty trained can take advantage of our nanny service and have nannies escort children to the Anancy Children’s Village.

Camp Half Moon

Enjoy action-packed adventures, art & craft, exciting entertainment and much more at Camp Half Moon.  Designed for children ages 4 - 15, Camp Half Moon operates Mondays - Fridays, 9 am - 4:30 pm, July 8 - August 16.  Camp rates are:  $55 per camper, per day or $200 per camper, per week.  Camp Half Moon rates include activities, lunch and snacks daily.  Accommodations not included. 

V.I.L.P.S. Check-In (Very Important Little Person Service)

Half Moon places a lot of importance on the little ones who come to our resort, and as a result we feature a VILPS Check-in for those Very Important Little Persons. V.I.L.P.s receive a special gift and welcome drink, an activity schedule, and personal introduction to our certified child-care staff. Additionally, there are special appearances by Anancy, the children’s village mascot, during special holidays.

Parents can arrange for an extra special treat at night time sure to usher in sweet dreams and fond memories with our Sleepy Treat of freshly baked cookies & milk or a story and tuck-in with cookies and milk. Contact the Pre-arrival Concierge to book this V.I.L.P service in advance of your family’s arrival.

Dining
Children are welcomed in all restaurants at Half Moon. Special menus and early seatings are available for families with young children at the Seagrape Terrace.

Bicycles
Our landscaped grounds make for a perfect day of exploring on two wheels. Bike rentals for children are available at the Bicycle Tent.

Game Room
The Game Room, located at the Oleander Terrace is open 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. and offers a variety of video games.

The Hype Zone

Welcome to the Hype Zone, the only place at Half Moon created just for teens. It’s a great place to meet up with other teens vacationing here at Half Moon. This exciting hot spot offers organized sports events, nightly entertainment, spa services for teens and more. The Hype Zone is for anyone 13-19 years old and is open daily from 11am – 10pm.
